    • 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
      • Alcohol used for antiseptics of the skin does not have an NPN or DIN. Obtain an approved antiseptic product that has a drug identification number (DIN) or natural product number (NPN).
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. Preempt CS20 disinfectant is being reused without testing and recording.- Obtain appropriate test strips- Ensure poured solution is tested daily prior to use- Document test results.2. Comedone extractors were being disinfected with alcohol.All semi critical tool must be disinfected using an approved high-level disinfectant such as the preempt CS20 observed onsite.3. A low level disinfectant was not available for the makeup brushes.Obtain a low-level disinfectant with a drug identification number (DIN)
    • 21. Is equipment that is intended to be sterile maintained sterile at the point of use?
      • 1. Microneedling needles were expired, with most found to be open and stored together with unused needles.Discard all expired and open microneedling needles. Ensure only sterile, single-use needles within expiry are used.2. Needles used for skin tag removal had no sterility information.Obtain sterile, single-use needles with valid sterility information for skin tag removal. Ensure needles have a lot number, expiration date and method used to achieve sterilization. 3. Sterility assurance documentation was not being completed for services that puncture the skin.Implement and maintain sterility assurance documentation for all services that puncture the skin, with corresponding client records.

      • 1. A handheld laser device (NeatCell) was observed on-site. Manufacturer’s instructions for use were not available for review.2. Skin tag removal device named (TM-168 removed spot) did not have manufacturer’s instructions for useProvide manufacturer’s instructions for use for all energy-emitting equipment and ensure they are available on-site
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Permanent make up ink were expired. Discard all expired inks and ensure only inks that are within expiry are used
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Critical)?
      • 1. A microneedling device (Dr. Pen A1) was observed on-site. This device has not been authorized for use by Health Canada.Obtain a microneedling device that has an active Medical Device License for use in microneedling services.2.The skin tag device labeled TM‑168 removed spot had no medical device license issued by Health Canada.Obtain an approved device by health Canada for skin tag removal services.
