      • Operator purchased the pre-empt wipes for disinfecting the tweezers for eyelash extensions.Pre-empt wipes are intermediate level surface disinfectant wipes and are not suitable for semi-critical tools (Equipment that comes into contact with mucous membrane or non-intact skin but is not intended to puncture either of them).Please make sure that facility has High Level Disinfectant (HLD Pre-empt CS 20) and (AHP7) test strips for disinfecting and subsequent testing of HLD.Maintain the HLD logs provided.

      • The operator had not submitted the Personal Services Notification to Alberta Health Services.It was corrected during the inspection.

      • Facility specific written procedures were not maintained by the facility.Template for skin cleansing procedure was provided to the client. It was corrected during the inspection.

      • Operator was using the Mini High Temperature (NV-210) dry heat sterilizer for the semi-critical instruments (eye lash tweezers).Discussed with the operator that this is not appropriate method of disinfection.High Level Disinfectant must be used for disinfecting the semi-critical (those that come in contact with intact skin and mucous membrane).Make sure to clean and rinse the equipment before using the High Level Disinfectant.Follow manufacturer's instructions for contact time. Facility must also acquire test strips for testing of HLD and maintain the HLD logs. ** More information and resources will be provided in the e-mail**
