      • Observation: Minor mice activity still present. Professional pest control present on-site and they attended recently.
      • Corrective Action(s): Droppings noted in back dry storage area under shelving, as well as near box storage. Ensure that 1) All food packaging materials are stored in bins/boxes to protect them from potential contamination, and 2) Hard to clean areas under shelves and equipment is cleaned at least weekly to remove rodent droppings and to monitor for rodent activity.       • Observation: Pest control traps now present throughout kitchen, and pest control company service contract in place. Ensure bi-weekly service at minimum until issue is resolved.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure bi-weekly pest control service at minimum until issue is resolved. Follow all recommendations of the pest control technician. Ensure food sources are removed each night, and foods are stored in sealed containers. Ensure any pest droppings are cleaned up properly, and sanitiation level is maintained at a very high level of cleaning to remove food and water sources for rodents.

      • Observation: -Rodent droppings noted in several areas including staff washroom, under shelving throughout the kitchen. No pest control traps noted.
      • Corrective Action(s): -Contact a professional pest control company immediately for service. You need at least twice a month service immediately. Failure to address the pest issues immediately will result in closure of the food premises. Remove all food sources/water sources by cleaning daily.

      • Observation: -Significant amount of rodent droppings noted in staff washroom, under shelving in middle section of kitchen, under rack shelving on side of kitchen, up on shelving outside of staff washroom.
      • Corrective Action(s): -Droppings need to be cleaned up daily, and done properly to reduce risk to staff. A bleach solution of 20ml of bleach to 980ml of water needs to be made, and poured on to the droppings while wearing a proper mask and gloves. Wait 10 minutes and then wipe up droppings. DO NOT sweep or vacuum droppings. WorkSafeBC has information on their website on how to properly clean up rodent issues. ALL food contact surfaces (tables, kitchen areas) must be sanitized every day before use. Date to be corrected by: Today and ongoing. This violation has been coded historically. Failure to properly clean can result in closure of the food premises.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Bleach sanitizer in spray bottle measured at >>200 ppm chlorine concentration with test strip. Staff diluted bleach sanitizer during inspection.
      • Corrective Action(s): Prepare bleach sanitizer at a concentration of 100-200 ppm by mixing 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of bleach with 1L of water to adequately sanitize food contact surfaces as per approved sanitation plan. Bleach at concentrations higher than 200 ppm can chemically contaminate food contact surfaces and food.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hand washing station in staff washroom observed not supplied with liquid soap or paper towel during inspection. Staff placed both at the hand washing station.
      • Corrective Action(s): Maintain all hand washing stations adequately supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towel at all times to ensure staff are washing their hands after using the washroom and prior to handling food.

      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have the trap with dead mouse removed. Ensure to have ALL droppings removed from floors. Have all affected areas sanitized using bleach.
      • **DROPPINGS MUST BE REMOVED FROM FLOORS DAILY. It is operator's responsibility to have all floors checked for droppings and remove droppings BEFORE initiating any food prep in the morning.

Monitor for droppings every morning/before closing and remove them if observed. Continue to store all foods in pest proof containers.
