    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Two ceiling tiles in the toddler room were in disrepair and/or water stained. 2. A ceiling light cover in the toddler room was observed to be hanging down and could potentially fall on children. 3. A metal hook was observed to be hanging off of the wall in the OSC room. 4. A small section of the baseboard closest to the entrance gate to the OSC room was observed to be in disrepair. 1-4. Ensure the indicated surfaces are repaired to be smooth and easy to clean and/or replaced to remove potential hazards for children.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The wooden guard on the diapering table in the infant room was observed with cracks which make the surface difficult to clean. 2. The corner of the wall in the middle of the infant area was observed with paint chipping which makes the surface difficult to effectively clean. 3. Several pieces of duct tape observed on the wall near the washroom in the infant room. 4. The children's couch in the toddler room was observed with several rips in the seating section which make the surface difficult to clean. 1-4. Ensure the indicated surfaces are repaired to be smooth and easy to clean.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The lid on the sand table in the toddler room was observed to be in disrepair.2. The lid on the sand table in the infant room was observed to be constructed of cardboard and tape which is difficult to clean and sanitize.1-2. Ensure the indicated lids are replaced to render the surface smooth and easy to clean.

    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • Staff washroom (accessible to children as it was not locked or blocked) had paint and chemicals stored under the washroom hand sink that was not secured.Please ensure that all chemicals are stored out of reach of children or inaccessible to chilren at all times.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Diapering pads were in good repair and easy to clean but did not have a safety strap available.Diapering pad in toddler/preschool room should be secured to prevent movement of change pad when in use.Please ensure that the diapering pad is secure and has appropriate safety straps readily available.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Out of school care room: The baseboard and wall near the floor, beside the patio door, was in disrepair and in a state that is not easy to clean. Please repair the baseboard and wall to be in good repair, easy to clean condition.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • Ensure that the first aid kit meets the CSA requirements for the program.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • The water temperature at the washroom hand sinks in the toddler, preschool and staff washrooms was noted to be cool (temperature measured to be approx 22C at the point of use). Adequate hot and cold water is required to be available for proper hand washing. Please ensure that the hand sinks have adequate temperature of water available and that children are supervised to ensure proper hand washing is completed.
