In the child washroom, chemical cleaning supplies and other pressurized spray air fresheners were observed on the counter accessible to children. ** Relocate the cleaning supplies / other chemicals in an area inaccessible to children. 2. Very tall cabinet (located to the right of the children's washroom) measuring greater than 4 feet was not secured or anchored to the wall / floor.** Please secure the cabinet so the cabinet does not tip over or fall. -

      • - 1. Outlet cover along the pillar near the front door did not have a childsafe cover. ** Install a proper cover over the exposed electrical outlet. 2. Outlet along the wall under the smart white board/tv did not have a child safe cover. **Install a proper cover over the exposed electrical outlet. 3. Outlet along the wall near the large play structure / slide did not have a child safe cover. **Install a proper cover over the exposed electrical outlet.4. The pillar near the front door had metal trim installed along the corners. Along the corners, sharp edges were protruding outwards. ** Properly secure the trim back in place so sharp edges are not exposed. 5. The staff office area was openly accessible for kids and there were electrical extension bars with open electrical outlets without proper covers. There was a child playing in this area at the time of the inspection. ** Properly make the staff office area inaccessible or eliminate all hazards in the office area. 6. Long yellow wires were observed on the blue container in the children's washroom, under the wall mounted storage racks. ** Relocate blue container with yellow wires to an area not accessible to children as the wires may be a choking hazard.-

The square box installed around the plumbing lines under the washroom sink had porous raw wood exposed along the edges.** Apply proper edge trims or apply a finish to the raw wood so the area is made smooth, non-absorbent to moisture, and easy to clean. 4, The ceiling in the children's washroom was water stained near the sprinkler. **Determine the source of moisture/ water causing for the stain and properly repair. Then, wash stain off or remove the stained tile and replace with new. Continue to monitor. -

Several brown cushions / pillows in the reading nook area were visibly stained, appeared as though they have not been laundered or are being washed, and are ripped along the corners, exposing the porous cushioning inside. ** Please remove the fabric lined cushions and repair or replace. ** Ensure these items are laundered regularly.2. The children's washroom exhaust fan cover was caked with dust throughout. ** Clean the fan cover and ensure this is cleaned regularly. This helps to ensure the fan is operating properly. 3. The grey carpet near the large play structure/ slide was brown and stained and appears as though it may be feces. **Properly clean/disinfect the carpet near the play structure/slide to remove the visible staining / contamination ** Review clean up procedures for Cleaning and Disinfecting Blood spills, feces, vomit and other body fluids. Document provided to operator via email. 4. Urine was observed on the toilet bowl near the seat at the time of the inspection. ** Ensure any visible urine/feces are cleaned before next child's use. **Staff may need to clean / check the washroom more regularly to clean and monitor children use 5. Spoke to staff Lovepreet Bhatti regarding toy washing procedures - she explained that toys will be washed with soap and water at the 2 comp sink in the back room and then allowed to airdry. ** Inadequate procedure as disinfection was not part of the process. Steps for toywashing are noted below: 1. Wash with a detergent and warm water.2. Rinse detergent away with clean, warm water.3. Wipe, spray, or soak in a sink for two minutes using an approved sanitizer. 4. After sanitizing step, let the surface or item air dry. **Guidance document provided to operator via email ** 2. The fall height for the climbable structure that has rainbow-colored steps is greater than18 inches and does not have proper fall surfacing underneath to prevent injury. ** Properly repair the structure and ensure all steps are secured in place. Install proper fall surfacing underneath that meets the fall height for the structure or remove the play structure. 3. The shorter slide had a missing horizontal step, and some steps that were loose. The fall height for the slide measured approximately 20 inches high. ** Repair the slide and install proper fall surfacing underneath the slide or, remove the play structure.**Staff mentioned that the structure was going to be removed. -

      • -The hot water temperature at the children's hand sink measured up to 15.1 degrees celsius which is quite cold to facilitate / encourage handwashing. ** Please ensure the plumbing at hand sink is increased so the temperature is warmer - temperatures must not exceed 49 degrees Celsius.-

      • - 1. Children jackets/ backpacks were hung up near the front door and they were all overlapping/ touching without proper separation. ** Properly separate between different children's personal belongings. ** Staff mentioned that cubicles were on order which will allow for separation.2. Children's personal water bottles were missing labels / names. ** Ensure all personal effects are properly labelled. 3. Children's backpacks and some tote bags were observed hanging in the children's bathroom. **Relocate the backpacks and tote bags in an area away from the washroom. -
