    • 03. Is the bacteriological quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • Routine water samples have not been submitted for bacteriological testing since November 2022. A valid access number has been provided to the operator. Please resume submitting weekly samples.
    • 04. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Critical)?
      • There is currently no chlorine in the pool water and the clarity is poor. Operator informed inspector that they have just changed chemical suppliers. They do not have any disinfectant/sanitizer for the pool and they are planning to remove the chemical systems that are currently installed. The pool must be operated within required chemical parameters. A system that automatically monitors and adjusts the chlorine and pH is required.

      • The flowmeter was not working at the time of the inspection. The float appeared to be stuck at the bottom of the gauge. Operator informed inspector that it was likely installed incorrectly. Please repair or replace the flowmeter so that the flow rate can be monitored and appropriate recirculation rate can be verified.
    • 12. Are the general safety devices and physical conditions in this pool providing a safe environment (Critical)?
      • The pool has a single main drain. The main drain design/construction could not be verified during the inspection. Please ensure that the pool's system is compliant with section 9 of Alberta's Pool Standard (amended 2018).
    • 14. Is the pool maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, good repair and are temperatures being properly regulated?
      • One small section of tiles (approximately 3" x 6" overall) was missing in the pool basin. Operator informed inspector that they had recently broken off. Please ensure the pool basin is cleanable, in good repair, and does not present a safety hazard to patrons.

Operator reported to inspector that nobody uses the pool and someone must have moved the sign that was in place. The area needs to be roped off to avoid unauthorized use of the pool. Signage should indicate that the hot tub, pool, and pool common area are all off limits.
