      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 2 of 3 hand wash stations were blocked at the start of the inspection. Staff were notified and the sinks were cleared.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure all sinks are accesible. Obstructing the sinks makes it difficult for staff to wash their hands

      • Observation: Rodent droppings observed along window ledges of dining area. Manager aware of concerns and showed me the pest control reports.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hand wash station in the kitchen area was used to store a box and therefore, obstructed for staff use. Staff were notified and they relocated the item.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure all hand wash stations are free from obstruction and easily available for use

      • Observation: Fume head requires cleaning and sanitation due to excessive grease build-up. This is a sanitation issue and may lead to a fire hazard.

      • Observation: Minor dark build up in interior of ice machine.
      • Corrective Action(s): Turn off ice machine and remove all the ice inside to thoroughly clean and sanitize the interior following manufacturer's instructions.

      • 302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: 1. Bowls and smaller containers for food service placement in dishwashing rack were overlapping.
      • 2. Stainless steel inserts and plastic inserts for food storage that were stored in a clean rack had food debris and moisture still them.
      • Corrective Action(s): 1. Ensure dishwashing staff are aware of how to properly stack and place dishes and bowls to allow for proper cleaning and sanitizing. Overlapping dishes will prevent certain areas of dishes to not be properly cleaned.
      • 2. Ensure all dishes that are washed and sanitized are properly air dried before being placed for storage.
      • Improper cleaning of dishes can lead to contamination of food thats to be stored.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1. Insert of raw shrimp was placed in top corner of prep cooler where ready to eat ingredients nearby. Operator relocated the insert of raw shrimp in a separate area away from ready to eat ingredients.
      • 2. Rice scoop was stored outside in a regular bowl. Operator switched out the rice scoop into a container with ice and water.
      • Corrective Action(s): 1. Ensure raw potentially hazardous food items are not stored nearby ready to eat ingredients that could lead to contamination.
      • 2. Ensure utensils used for food service are stored in a manner that would prevent further contamination to other food items. Rice left on rice scoops that are left out in room temperature can promote the growth of bacteria which could lead to contamination of food.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Plastic bag with broth inside was placed in boiling water bath for boiling noodles.
      • Corrective Action(s): Defrost broth in refrigeration units overnight or under cold running water in sink. Do not defrost plastics using high heat which can lead to degredation of plastic leaching into food.

      • 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
      • Observation: Minor pest droppings noted in back storage area.
      • Corrective Action(s): Clean and remove pest droppings in the area mentioned above to determine if pest droppings are new or old to assess if pest control strategies are working. Continue to work with pest control services to mitigate pest entry.
