    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • -Diapering is not being performed properly in this social care facility. The designated diapering sinks in the classroom were being used for other purposes; a bib and a coffee cup were in the sink. In every social care facility where diaper changing is performed, diaper changing shall be performed completely separate from food areas. Ensure the diapering sinks are used for handwashing only.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • -Children were observed washing their hands from a tap in the outdoor play space near the ground. There was soap being used but not paper towel. This is not an appropriate way to wash hands. Please ensure that children wash their hands at a sink inside the centre. Alternatively a portable sink can be installed outside. Water for handwashing needs to be fresh and used water should be collected in a catch basin. Ensure soap and paper towel are used.
    • 15. Is laundry being properly handled in a suitable manner?
      • -Linens used in this social care facility are not being properly cleaned and/or handled. Used cloths were observed on surfaces and the operator indicated that cloths are handwashed. Linens used within a social care facility must be cleaned, disinfected, and mechanically dried between uses. *If cloths are going to be used please have bins available for clean and dirty linens.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • -Sleeping mats with sheets on were stored in large plastic bags; stacked with the open ends facing each other. Please ensure the open ends of the bags are stored alternating to prevent touching of bedding.
    • 30. Are workers washing hands when appropriate and/or in a proper manner?
      • -Alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) at the front of the facility was expired. Please replace.

      • Preschool room:Toy cube was noted to be in disrepair and not able to be easily cleaned and disinfected.Please repair or replace.Outstanding

      • Toy washing procedure was discussed. Staff indicated that they are washing and disinfecting toys in diapering hand sink.Discussed proper toy washing procedure in approved sinks only (kitchen area).Tiles at front entrance were broken.Please repair to be in good repair and easy to clean condition.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • Preschool room washroom:1 hand sink was not operational. Toddler room: No paper towel available at bathroom hand sink. Toy washing procedure was discussed. Staff indicated that they are washing and disinfecting toys in diapering hand sink.Discussed proper toy washing procedure in approved sinks only (kitchen area).Discussed with staff who indicated children wash their hands in main classroom hand sink for staff supervision. Discussed ensuring the hand sink is operational, accessible and fully stocked.
