- The chemical storage areas have changed and no longer are stored safely.1) Acids and bases are stored in the same area. Soda Bicarbonate powder (base) is all over the storage area including on the Muriatic Acid. If the acid was to spill or leak it could cause a reaction that could be hazardous to workers and patrons. 2) Pool Disinfectant is stored in a closet at the back of the women's change area that is carpeted. Chemicals and cleaning supplies should be stored in an area that is non-porous and easily cleanable.
