      • A container of dirty esthetic tools was being stored at one of the manicure stations. Removed by PHI Tomasevic and the owner messaged the staff member to remind them they must not store dirty tools at their station. The staff was not onsite during the inspection.

      • Personal services notification was submitted during inspection onsite.A Personal Services Notification was not received for the facility.Please submit a Personal Services Notification to Alberta Health Services.
    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • AHS template was provided to be completed and sent to PHI.There are no written procedures in the facility. The following written procedures should be established at the facility.- Procedure for client care in the event of accidental puncture.- Skin cleansing
    • 06. Do operators and personal services workers comply with the Personal Services Regulation and Standards and do they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties in a safe and sanitary manner?
      • Manufacturer Instruction for Use (MIFU) for tinting products were not followed. The products have 6months and 12 months use after first opening. No opening date was indicated on the tubes. No procedure was inplace to track the expiry date for the product.Discuss onsite and operator will write the opening date on the tube.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • No High-level disinfectant (HLD) testing logs were available for review. HLD test results were not logged in the sheets. AHS template for HLD testing log sheet was provided.Ensure the HLD is tested daily prior to reuse and test results are recorded on the HLD test log sheet.
    • 24. Are waste sharps disposed of properly?
      • There was puncture resistant sharp container was noted onsite. The sharps were disposed off in an open plastic container.Obtain a puncture resistant sharp container to allow safe disposal of sharps in the facility.
