    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • An expired disinfectant was being used by the operator at the time of the inspection.Ensure that disinfectants are used within their expiry date and used according to the manufacturer's instructions. Regularly check product expiry dates and replace expired products as needed to ensure effective disinfection and compliance with applicable health and safety requirements.
    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • The treatment table used for clients was equipped with a foam mattress that did not have a protective cover.Ensure that the treatment table is covered with a smooth, non-porous, and easily cleanable surface. The cover must be maintained in good condition and cleaned and disinfected after each client use to help prevent contamination and maintain sanitary conditions.
    • 31. Are sinks accessible and used appropriately for the personal services provided?
      • The kitchen sink was being used for the reprocessing of tools.Ensure that a designated sink is available for the cleaning and reprocessing of reusable tools and equipment. The reprocessing sink must not be used for other purposes, such as handwashing, food preparation, or utensil cleaning.As an interim measure, it was recommended that the washroom handwashing sink be used for tool reprocessing. However, a written procedure must be developed and maintained outlining the steps required to clean and disinfect the sink after tool reprocessing and before it is returned to handwashing use. The sink must be thoroughly decontaminated following each reprocessing activity to prevent cross-contamination.This interim arrangement may be used only until a dedicated or mobile sink is obtained and available for tool reprocessing.
