- 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Sanitizer spray bottle were not set up for sanitizing the food contact surfaces during the time of inspeciton.
- Corrective Action: The operator filled the spray bottle with sanitizer solution and used it for the food preperation table in the kitchen area.
- 309 - Repeat Chemicals, cleansers, & similar agents stored or labeled improperly [s. 27]
- Observation: There was an unlabelled spray bottles in the premise. Unlabelled spray bottles may lead to misuse of the chemical, cross contaminate and may lead to ineffective cleaning and sanitation of the food contact surfaces.
- Corrective Action: The operator to ensure all chemicals used in the premises are appropriately labelled to identify the contents inside the bottles.
- 401 - Critical Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) All handwashing sinks were out of hand soap. Hand washing is an important practice to ensure food are protected from cross contamination from other previously handled foods or contact surfaces
- Corrective Action: The operator purchased the soap during the time of inspection and refilled all the handwashing sinks in the facility.
- 502 - In operator’s absence, no staff on duty has FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent [s. 10(2)]
- Observation: The employee working at the time of inspection did not have her FoodSafe training. It is a requirement for at least one employee to have their certification on every shift.
- Corrective Action: Ensure both employees are FoodSafe certified. Certifications should be obtained by September 30th, 2023.
