- Observation: Operating permit was not available at the establishment at the time of inspection. The operator stated that a request was submitted previously; however, only the approval decal was received and not the operating permit. Operating permit confirm that an establishment has been reviewed and approved by Northern Health to operate in compliance with food premises regulation. The absence of an operating permit may raise public concerns about compliance with food safety standards.
- Corrective Action: The operator was advised to contact Northern Health by email at [email protected] to obtain the official operating permit. The permit must be received and posted in a conspicuous location once it is received.

- Observation: The cold food transport cart was observed holding food at 15 °C, which is above the required cold-holding temperature of 4 °C or lower. Foods held above 4 °C and below 60 °C fall within the temperature danger zone, and this will increase the risk of food-borne illness.
- Corrective Action: The operator was informed to ensure that the cold transport cart is plugged in and pre-chilled before food is placed inside. The operator was advised to coordinate with security/guards so food is moved earlier and served within 2 hours since temperature control cannot be maintained

- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Margarine container was observed stored at room temperature on the kitchen counter at room temperature. Potentially hazardous foods left at room temperature support the growth of bacteria. Improper holding may result in microbic growth or product spoilage, increasing the risk of food-borne illness.
- Corrective Action: The operator immediately moved the margarine to the refrigeration unit.

- Observation: No written food safety plan was available on site at the time of inspection. food safety plans are essential to ensure consistent, safe food handling practices. Their absence increases the likelihood of unsafe food handling, which may lead to food-borne illness.
- Corrective Action: The operator will be supplied with approved template to complete the food safety plan and have on site.

- Observation: No written sanitation plan was available on site at the time of inspection. Written sanitation is essential to ensure consistent, safe food handling practices. Their absence increases the likelihood of improper cleaning and cross-contamination, which may lead to foodborne illness.
- Corrective Action: The operator will be supplied with approved templates to complete the sanitation plan and have on site.

- Observation: Operator was not able to present the permit to operate. A decal sticker was displayed on the business license from the city.
- Corrective Action: Operator to obtain a copy of the operating permit for the resturant and have the valid decal posted on the permit.

- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Margarine containers were left at room temperature on the kitchen counter. All potentially hazardous foods must be stored at below 4°C or above 60°C - out of the danger zone to prevent bacterial growth and possibly food borne illness.
- Corrective Action: Operator moved the container to the refrigeration unit and recommended to time label the container when left in temperature danger zone to ensure it is not left out of the refrigeration unit for more than 2 hours.

- Observation: Chemical containers and unlabeled spray bottles not for use in the kitchen were observed to be stored on top of food items used for cooking (Public Health significance) - Contamination of food from contact with objects, people, pests or chemicals can cause serious illness.
- Corrective Action: Equipment/chemicals not needed in the food premises to be stored away from the kitchen area. All chemical spray bottles to be stored o the bottom shelves.
