    • A person must not sell, offer for sale, provide or distribute tobacco or vapour products to a person under 19 years of age [TVPCA Section 2(2)]
      • Returned to the store with the minor, the purchased tobacco/vapour product and the change from the transaction. Asked the minor to point out the person who sold tobacco/vapour product. Approached and identified myself to the clerk/owner/manager stating that I was conducting compliance checks and a sale of tobacco/vapour product to a minor had just occurred. Asked the minor to state his/her age.
      • Reviewed the events pertinent to the sale of tobacco/vapour product to the minor and the importance of verifying a tobacco/vapour product purchaser’s age by requesting and checking valid photo ID.
      • Retailer/clerk will be put on the enforcement checklist for a period of 1 year from the violation date.
      • Copy of warning letter attached to this report and placed in hard copy file.
      • Handed the clerk/manager/owner a warning letter to sign confirming it has been received as well as the refund of the tobacco/vapour product.
