    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • There is a potty-training toilet seat placed on top of the diapering change table in the shared washrooms at the time of inspection.Please remove and disinfect all surfaces. The diapering change table is for diapering only.Potty-training toilet seat was removed during the inspection.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • The paper towels at the hand wash sink in the kindergarten room is placed on top of the paper towel dispenser.Please ensure all single-use paper towels are placed in a proper dispenser or container to prevent them from becoming contaminated.Operator placed the paper towels back into the dispenser at the time of inspection.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • There are expired antiseptic wipes in the first aid kit located in the infant room.Replenish and update the first aid kits. The director replaced the wipes immediately.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. There is a large stuffed animal (moose) in the infant room that is not easily cleanable or can fit into the washer located at the daycare.2. There are foam blocks in the toddler room that have bite marks or are damaged.1. and 2. Remove the stuffed animal and any damaged foam blocks. All toys must be easy to clean, in good repair, and age-appropriate.

    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • There were no paper towels available at the handwashing sink in kindergarten room at the time of inspection.-Please ensure availability of paper towels at all handwashing stations. This infraction was corrected during the inspection.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • Kindergarten' sink hot water temperature was measured at 36 degrees Celsius at the time of inspection.-The temperature was increased to 41 degrees Celsius during the inspection. Please maintain hot water temperature between 38 and 43 to ensure proper handwashing process.

    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • There is tape all along the wall near the door in the infant room. The tape is used to hold up the mats however it is peeling and is not an easy to clean surface.Please remove the tape and find another alternative or remove the mats entirely. All surfaces must be smooth, easy to clean, and in good repair.
    • 15. Is laundry being properly handled in a suitable manner?
      • There were wet cleaning cloths lying around in the infant and kinder rooms.Please ensure all used wet cleaning cloths are placed in a bin for laundering. A new dry cleaning cloth or paper towel must be used each time.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • The mouthed toys found in the mouthed toy bins are being cleaned and disinfected every few days to once a week.Please ensure the mouthed toys are cleaned and disinfected between uses (after each child) or at least once a day.

    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • 1. The diapering safety clip/belt in the jr toddler room is broken and does not properly clip in.2. Proper diapering procedures are not being followed. 1.Please ensure the diapering mat with the safety clip/belt is replaced or repaired. 2. Please ensure proper diapering procedures are being followed at all times. Follow the steps provided in the diapering procedures that are posted in each diapering area.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • The previous kinder room has been changed to a senior toddler room where diapering occurs. There is no hand wash sink located in the diapering area. There must be an adjacent hand wash sink in every diapering area. Remove the diapering table immediately. The diapering table can be moved to the washroom across the hallway and placed along the middle wall between the 2 toilet rooms (paper towel holder must be removed if using this space).

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • Chlorine sanitizer bottle (green bottle) for toddler room was unlabelled. Ensure all chemical bottles are labelled to indicate the chemical or use.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Observed 2 diaper stations where staff were not properly cleaning and disinfecting the underside areas (paper leaflets, socks, plastic bag). After diapering, ensure top and bottom surfaces are cleaned and disinfected.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Some dust collecting on some lower shelves where toy bins are kept in the rooms. 2. Toddler room- below storage area for cots had accumulation of toys and dust
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • Insufficient hot water supply observed today. Staff indicated hot water depletion occurs in the afternoon after heavy use of the dishwasher. At time of inspection, the residual hot water in the lines was initially there but depleted. Hot water was not available at handwash sinks. Advised owner to have hot water tank serviced today to ensure hot water is available at all times.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • Storage of sleeping cots in the hallway and in the toddler rooms had bedding still on the cots and in contact with other children bedding being stacked ontop. Remove the child's bedding and store separately for the designated child, or each cot will need to be covered to protect the bedding of each child during storage.
