    • 17. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this special event vendor (Non-Critical)?
      • Most of the vendors were not ready at the given time. There were delays with chafing dishes, steam table, electrical issue. One of the Vendor "Bahama Wave" was not onsite during the first day during the inspection and inspection was conducted next day, still there were issues with hot water.

    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • VIP catered area did not have any sinks planned for food handling.-Ensure that each food vendor has an adequate number of sinks available-Other staff found a sink for the operator
    • 14. Does the special event vendor have an adequate supply of potable hot and cold running water and is the water sampled at required intervals?
      • Most vendors did not have hot running water at beginning of setup.-Ensure hot and running water is available to all food vendors before they begin to prepare food
    • 21. Is refuse being managed in a suitable manner?
      • Multiple vendors had wastewater pipes from hand washing/dishwashing sinks that did not end in a wastewater tank, instead ending directly on the ground.-Ensure all wastewater is collected in a sanitary manner
    • 23. Has appropriate notification been given for the special event?
      • **Repeat violation**Updated Aug 17, 2024Multiple vendors not on submitted list-----------Multiple food vendors present that operator did not submit to health prior to event. -Ensure all vendors and contact information is provided prior to AHS for review.----------There were several food vendors that were noted as present during the inspection, but were not included in the list of food vendors provided on the Special Event Organizer Notification Form. The inspector informed the organizer and coordinator that the office of Environmental Public Health should be notified of any changes (including last minute changes) regarding the food vendors and other aspect of the event. In this case, the organizer did not notify Alberta Health Services of the updated vendors list, as the organizers must also notify all operators/food vendors to notify Alberta Health Services of their attendance to the event.

      • VIP area - perishable foods were not temperature controlled-Maintain cold foods <4C and hot foods >60C
    • 23. Has appropriate notification been given for the special event?

  4. Initial Inspection

    • 22. Is the temporary food establishment properly constructed, configured and maintained?
      • Several food vendors were not fully set up at least one hour prior to the event. The inspector informed the event coordinator and organizer that all food vendors must be fully set up and ready for the approval inspection at least one hour prior to the event. The organizer mentioned to the inspector that the vendors were notified to be ready by 2:00 pm. However, the food vendors mentioned to the inspector that such a requirement was not communicated to them by the organizers. Thus, moving forward, please ensure that there is a clear communication between the event organizers and food vendors regarding this requirement. The food vendors that were not fully setup during the inspection were not permitted to attend the event on the first day.
