    • 19(1)(c) A food establishment must be located, designed, constructed and maintained to ensure all of the following:  (c) that the surfaces and materials are durable, non-toxic and are easy to maintain, clean and sanitize;
      • In accordance with Section 4.6 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must ensure all surfaces such as floors, walls and ceilings are cleaned at a frequency that will prevent accumulation of dust, dirt and debris. Clean floors throughout the facility (especially beside/behind equipment).
    • 29(2)(b) A maintenance, cleaning and sanitation program must include procedures to ensure that all of the following are done: (b) insects, rodents and other pests are controlled;
      • Provide a copy of the July 2026 Pest Control report to the Public Health Inspector. Indicate corrective actions for any areas of concern identified (ex. filling in gaps to prevent entry, cleaning).

    • 19(1)(a) A food establishment must be located, designed, constructed and maintained to ensure all of the following: (a) that the risk of contaminating the food is minimized;
      • In accordance with Section 2.3 and Section 2.4.2 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must keep all floors, walls and ceilings in food preparation, processing and storage areas in good repair. Floors are damaged throughout the kitchen (missing sections of floor tiles). Flooring must be replaced in these areas.

    • 19(1)(a) A food establishment must be located, designed, constructed and maintained to ensure all of the following: (a) that the risk of contaminating the food is minimized;
      • In accordance with Section 2.3 and Section 2.4.2 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must keep all floors, walls and ceilings in food preparation, processing and storage areas in good repair. Floors are damaged throughout the kitchen (missing sections of floor tiles). Flooring must be replaced in these areas.
    • 19(3) A food establishment must have lighting, ventilation, heating, refrigeration and plumbing that is appropriate to the specific activities of the food establishment and that is considered acceptable by the Minister.
      • A plumbing issue with the water filtration system is causing water to pool on the floor near the filter tanks. Repair leak.
    • 23(2)(a) Equipment used to cook, heat-treat, cool, store, display or freeze food must be designed to (a) achieve the required food temperature as rapidly as is necessary to maintain food safety; and
      • Door seal damaged on the small undercounter cooler near the drive thru cash area. Replace door seal to ensure proper temperature can be maintained.

    • 29(2)(a) A maintenance, cleaning and sanitation program must include procedures to ensure that all of the following are done: (a) the food establishment and equipment are maintained, cleaned and sanitized;
      • In accordance with Section 4.2.2 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must ensure non-food contact surfaces of equipment must be cleaned at a frequency that will prevent the accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue and other debris. Cleaning required in walk-in cooler / freezer floor.

    • 50(a) An operator must ensure that articles, equipment or materials not associated with the processing or preparation of food are stored (a) separately from areas where food is processed or prepared;
      • Chemicals must be stored in a designated separate area (away from any food products).
    • 9(a) An operator must renew a permit, other than a temporary permit, on or before the expiry date by submitting a completed renewal application to the Minister on a form approved by the Administrator together with all of the following: (a) the applicable fee prescribed in Section 5;
      • Food permit must be renewed and posted in the facility.
