      • Visible black debris was noted on several 'clean' pedicure foot bath magnetic propellers, which indicates that cleaning is not being conducted prior to disinfection, or that a visible check for cleanliness is not being conducted prior to disinfection.REQUIREMENT: Properly disassemble and clean the pedicure foot bath magnetic propellers. Ensure that cleaning is being done and checked for prior to disinfection.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1) All solutions of Pre-Empt RTU and CS20 disinfectants were expired according the the manufacturer's label (CS20 expired in May 2023).REQUIREMENT: Obtain non-expired disinfectant solutions immediately.2) The facility did not have a reliable means to track the length of time that disinfection of a batch of tools.REQUIREMENT: Develop a reliable system which will allow staff to verify that if using Pre-empt CS20, a minimum of 20 minutes contact time has been achieved.3) Rotary drill bits are not being disinfected in a high-level disinfection solution.REQUIREMENT: Rotary drill bits are a semi-critical tool and therefore requires high-level disinfection.
