    • 06. Are appropriate food handling practices and plans in place to ensure that food is handled in a manner that makes it safe to eat?
      • Hot holding unit storing hot lunch that was received from a central kitchen was measuring at 40-45C. Receiving temperature logs weren't filled out by staff as per written food safety plans. Program called the central kitchen to receive new food, and the other lunches were discarded. Staff will log temperatures upon receiving the food and prior to serving.

      • X After running the dishwasher 4 times, the final rinse temperature was recorded at 68C using a probe thermometer.X The pressure gauge on the dishwasher was not working.* Have a technician to assess the dishwasher and do necessary repairs.

      • X Parts of the laminate finish on the kitchen countertop were lifting and bubbling exposing the fiberboard underneath, i.e., area around the sinks.The centre director informed Fong that a vendor had measured the countertop for its replacement.

      • - The kitchen floor in multiple areas continues to show signs of disrepair. There are missing sections of tile, cracks, and tears in the kitchen tile. Please ensure the kitchen flooring is repaired to facilitate proper cleaning and to minimize the growth of microorganisms within the damaged areas, which can be a source of contamination.

      • - Between the wall and the left side of the refrigerator is a buildup of dust and debris on the floor and on the ventilation cover. Please ensure the area is cleaned to minimize the risk of contamination to food items and equipment in the area.
