      • The wax warmer is in an unsanitary condition such that there is an accumulation of wax, hair, residue, and debris on its surfaces (including hair accumulation on the interior side of the lid).Corrective Action:- Clean the surfaces and maintain the equipment in a clean and sanitary condition.- Staff mentioned a new one will be purchased.- Recommended using a product that is designed to remove wax from hard surfaces to keep this equipment clean.

      • Equipment is being stored alongside personal items. One station's drawer was observed with a worker's toothbrush and toothpaste beside barbering equipment.Corrective Action:Ensure all equipment/products used for client services are stored separate from personal items.

Operator does not have a device to measure the required amount of Barbicide and water for proper dilution. The manufacturer instructions on the label state to mix 62.5 ml of Barbicide in 1 liter of water. (This is equivalent to 2 ounces of Barbicide in 32 ounces of water, or 1/4 of a cup of Barbicide in 4 cups of water)Corrective Action:- Ensure you are following the manufacturer's instructions of this disinfectant.- Ensure you have a device to measure the correct volume of Barbicide and water for mixing.

      • Hand soap was not provided at the hand washing station. Ensure hand washing station is adequately supplied with hot/cold water, soap and paper towel/microfiber towels.

      • Barbicide containers were not full, the combs were not immersed in the solution.

      • The wax warmer and containers were in unsanitary condition. Accumulation of dust and debris was noted on the surfaces of the equipment and around the containers.Clean the surfaces and maintain the equipment in a clean and sanitary condition.
