      • *** Violation description: Facility did not have written procedures in place for accidental cuts, waxing procedures Corrective Actions – Provided facility with AHS template that was filled out on site during the inspection.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • *** Violation description: Facility surfaces had visible dirt and debris, including hair in hair washing sinks. Alcohol cleaner used to clean surfaces does not have a DIN. Corrective Actions - Clean surfaces between clients and disinfect with a low-level disinfectant with a DIN.

    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • Tweezers and other wax supplies were not well organized to prevent from contamination in the wax card.Two hair stations had personal items such as money, gum and pens in the same container as hair tools. Personal items must be kept separate from hair tools. One station also had dirty electric clippers covered in hair stored with personal items. This was corrected onsite.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Tweezers used for waxing were being disinfected with alcohol. Alcohol is not a recognized disinfectant. Disinfect tweezers with a low level disinfectant such as the barbicide available onsite. Barbicide containers were not being filled to the top to allow hair tools to be fully submerged in disinfectant. Reminder to replace barbicide solution daily.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Several hair sinks at hair stations were visibly dirty.
