    • Ensure the floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and furniture of the setting are maintained in good repair, easily cleanable, of smooth and impermeable material, and maintained in a sanitary condition (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec. 8(1)(2).
      • Maintain premises in a clean and sanitary condition.
    • Work surfaces must be made of such form and material that they can be readily cleaned and disinfected or sterilized. (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec.8(1)(9)).
      • Ensure all work surfaces are cleaned and disinfected after each client.
    • Premises must have adequate storage space for necessary equipment and supplies (O.Reg. 136/18; 8(1.10)).
      • Ensure supplies are appropriately stored (e.g. not stored on the ground or under sink).
    • The premises must be equipped with receptacles for waste and laundry. (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec. 8(1.8)).
      • Place dirty/used linens in a receptacle after each use/client.
      • Provide an easily accessible receptacle for dirty linens.
      • Use a dirty linen receptacle only for dirty linens.
    • Ensure all reusable equipment is cleaned and disinfected or sterilized as often as necessary to prevent disease transmission (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec.10(4)).
      • Clean and disinfect or sterilize instruments/equipment according to instrument classification and manufacture's instructions for use.
