- 02. Is the bacteriological quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Critical)?
- - The bacteriological water sample collected on July 29, 2024, had TC present and Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated and August 6, 2024, had Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated.Hot tub was drain during the inspection after discussion with the operator on the decision that the pool must be closed. Closure decision was discussed with Manager at the time of inspection.

- 07. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?
- The volume of the hot tub is 2000G. Flow meter was observed to be at 55 GPM at the time of inspection. The turnover rate of the hot tub is 2000G/55 GPM = 36 minutes. The gauge for the sand filters were read at 11 psi. The sand filter of the whirlpool is a Triton II High-Rate Sand Filter. There are two sand filters connected to the pump. Surface area of the filter is 4.19 sq ft. The max filtration rate is 15 GPM/sq ft as stated on the manufacturer's spec plate. The max filtration flow rate is 74 GPM as again per the manufacturer's spec plate. The current rate of filtration: 55 GPM/8.38 sq ft = 6.56 GPM/sq ft. The automated controller in the maintenance room was reading at 727 mV for ORP and a pH of 7.28.Please ensure filtration rate for the pool is not too fast to allow adequate disinfection process and to maintain pool water quality.
- 07. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?
- Flow Meter Reading: 60 GPM Filtration: Turnover Rate: 2000/60 = 33 minutes. This appeared to be too slow. Hot tub volume is 2000 GPM (7470 L), the turnover needs to be every 20 minutes or 72 times a day. There are two Triton II High-Rate sand filters connected to the pump. Surface area of the filter is 4.19 sq ft each. The max filtration rate is 15 GPM/sq ft as stated on the manufacturer's spec plate. The max filtration flow rate is 74 GPM as again per the manufacturer's spec plate. The current rate of filtration: 60 GPM/8.38 sq ft = 7.16 GPM/sq ft which is within the max rate of filtration of 12.5 US gpm/sq ft. Note: Min flow rate 2000 gal/.25 hours/60 min/hour = 133.3 gpm.**Please ensure to increase the flow to at least 100 gpm to meet the 20-minute turnover requirement. This will increase the maximum rate of filtration to 11.93 gpm/sq ft which is still within range of the filter specifications.
