      • The free available chlorine was measured to be 0.27 ppm. This was tested again at the end of the inspection and was measured to be 0.21 ppm. The automated system was not pumping chlorine into the whirlpool either. Please balance the water in the whirlpool. Ensure that the chlorine level is maintained at at least 2.0 ppm at all times.

      • The mechanical room was very disorganized and messy. There were buckets labelled as calcium hypochlorite that were open with scoops sitting in them and white powder all over the floor around them. It was not clear if this was chlorine or another product stored in the hypochlorite buckets. Please clean and organize the mechanical room. Ensure all chemicals are safely stored and any spillage is safely cleaned up. Remove all empty cartons and old or unused items.

      • There is a significant scum line noted around the entire edge of the whirlpool wall. Please clean the scum line and ensure that this is done on a regular basis.
    • 15. Has an owner or owner's agent, if any, been identified and is the pool operated and maintained by a qualified pool operator?
      • The pool operator onsite does not have sufficient training and/or knowledge on how to safely run the pool. Please have the new site manager and anyone else who is in care and control of the pool and whirlpool enroll in and successfully complete an approved pool operators course.

      • October 8/26: This has been an ongoing issue. The hot tub MUST be manually tested every day and all results recorded. Water tests are not being done and recorded every day. The hot tub must be tested at least once a day, every day and the results recorded and kept onsite. Please ensure that there is someone onsite every day to test and record the chemical parameters of the hot tub.It was also noted that the alkalinity value has never been tested and recorded. Please ensure that the alkalinity is measured and the value recorded at least once a week.

      • There are no written procedures, plans or policies for cleaning or maintaining. Please develop and implement written operational procedures and staff training records that demonstrate the ability to safely operate and maintain the swimming pool/whirlpool and ensure compliance with all water quality requirements. At a minimum, the procedures must include: 1. A documented water quality monitoring program outlining the required testing frequency, acceptable operating ranges, required record keeping, and staff responsibilities.2. Procedures for manually testing all required water quality parameters, interpreting test results, comparing manual test results with automated monitoring equipment, and taking corrective action when discrepancies are identified.3. A documented escalation and response plan outlining the actions to be taken when water quality parameters fall outside acceptable limits, including notification procedures, corrective actions, pool closure criteria, and follow-up verification testing.4. Written procedures demonstrating that all staff responsible for pool operation understand the purpose, safe handling, storage, dosing, and use of all chemicals and products utilized within the facility to maintain water quality.5. A record management system that accurately documents manual water testing results, automated monitoring results, corrective actions taken, and any operational concerns affecting water quality.6. Written cleaning and maintenance procedures for the whirlpool scum line that identifies the cleaning method, products used, cleaning frequency, staff responsibilities, and documentation requirements to ensure the scum line remains clean and free of buildup.7. Procedures for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe mechanical/storage room, including proper chemical storage, segregation where required, maintenance of original product labels, and prompt disposal or management of unnecessary materials.
