- TOMMY Speedy Files that claim to be "washable" and "sanitizable" are being reused between clients. However, these files are made of porous materials and therefore must be discarded after each client use to prevent cross-contamination. Corrective action: Nail files must be treated as single-use products and get discarded after each client service.

- Single-use and uncleanable equipment such as nail files and buffers are being reused between clients.Corrective action: Single-use and uncleanable equipment cannot be reused between clients and must be discarded after each service.

- In some instances, reusable equipment was being stored with paper towel that has become soiled over time. This practice is unacceptable as it could re-contaminate clean equipment. Corrective action: Reusable equipment must no longer be stored with paper towel. Storage bins and cupboards should be regularly cleaned and disinfected to prevent cross-contamination.

Alcohol is being used to reprocess non-critical reusable equipment, which is not considered a low-level disinfectant.Corrective action: At minimum, a low-level disinfectant is required to reprocess non-critical reusable equipment. These products will have a "disinfectant" claim and a Drug Identification Number (DIN) on the label. 2. Facility is not maintaining a high-level disinfectant log and their test strips have expired.Corrective action: Valid test strips for the high-level disinfectant must be obtained, and high-level disinfectant logs must be maintained.
