      • Tools were stored in unclean containers at the manicure stations. The containers contained visible debris, including nail clippings.Ensure all storage containers are cleaned and disinfected on a regular schedule.

      • There was visible debris on reprocessed nail tools stored in the UV light box.Ensure all tools are thoroughly scrubbed, rinsed, free of debris and visually inspected for cleanliness before they are disinfected.

      • The operator reported that pedicure basins are only rinsed with water after each use.Pedicure basins must be thoroughly cleaned with a cleaning solution and then disinfected after every client. Obtain a scrubbing tool, an appropriate cleaning product, and an approved disinfectant to properly reprocess the basin. Ensure the disinfectant is used according to the required contact time specified by the manufacturer.A Mr. Clean cleaner and disinfectant solution was prepared for reprocessing the pedicure basins.

      • Semi‑critical tools disinfected using PreEmpt CS20 were not being submerged for the manufacturer‑specified contact time of 20 minutes. The operator reported that tools are submerged for only 5 minutes.Ensure that manufacturer instructions for all disinfectants are followed. PreEmpt CS20 requires a full 20‑minute contact time for proper high‑level disinfection of semi‑critical tools.

      • 1. Alcohol was being used to disinfect the pedicure chairs.2. The service bed in the wax room was not being disinfected between clients.Alcohol must not be used as a disinfectant for environmental surfaces. Obtain an approved low‑level disinfectant with a Drug Identification Number (DIN) and use it to disinfect all non‑critical surfaces, such as pedicure chairs and service beds, between each client.

      • Used nail files, buffers are stored in the manicure table drawers. Please ensure single-use items such as nail files, buffers that cannot be cleaned properly are discarded after use. Violation corrected onsite.

      • 1. Expired disinfectants were onsite. The high-level disinfectant used to disinfect tools expired Sep 2023 and Flexi Clean had expired Dec 2023. Please ensure the disinfectants are not expired. All semi critical tools must be disinfected with a high-level disinfectant such as pre-empt CS20.

      • 1. Garbage bin by the pedicure chair did not have a liner and inside was very dirty. Please clean and disinfect the garbage bin and use a liner. 2. Alcohol is used to disinfect surfaces such as waxing bed. Please use a low-level disinfectant to disinfect surfaces.
