      • Records for tattoo procedures did not include the lot numbers of the pre-purchased sterile needles used. Maintaining complete procedure records, including needle lot numbers, is important for product traceability and allows affected clients to be identified in the event of a product recall, defect, or other safety concern.Ensure that records are maintained for each procedure and include the lot number of all needles used. Records should be complete, accurate, and retained in accordance with applicable personal services requirements.

    • 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
      • The bottle of Dettol used for antisepsis of skin was observed past its expiration date. The owner acknowledged that and discarded the bottle. Owner had a bottle of Isopropyl alcohol 99% to use as antiseptic solution.Ensure that products are routinely checked and discarded if found expired.
    • 11. Is post-service care provided by personal service workers following any personal service or accident where a client's skin or mucous membrane is cut or punctured during a personal service, or when energy-emitting equipment is used?
      • Dynarex absorbent pads used as dressing material was stored along with other general supplies such as single use paper towels, in the cabinet.Ensure the dressing material is stored separately in a clean designated container/ area to avoid contamination.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Cavi-cide used as disinfectant was observed past its expiration date of 2022. The owner indicated that the product was bought recently. Obtain new disinfectant and for the time being use low-level disinfectant for disinfecting non critical equipment.Ensure that products are routinely checked for manufacturer's instructions including expiration date at the time of purchase.

      • 5 out of 6 sharps containers were observed overfilled. Overfilled sharps container significantly increases the risk of accidental needle-stick injuries, as sharps may protrude from the opening. The owner indicated that he would be safely disposing of the sharp's containers at the pharmacy. Ensure that once the sharps container reaches the indicated mark on the container, the lid should be securely fastened, and the container should be disposed of at a designated location.
