      • The interior and exterior of the wax warmer is heavily soiled with wax debris. All work surfaces including equipment must be maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. Please clean.

      • 1. There were several dead skin observed in crevices of the clean cuticle clippers and nail clippers.All tools and equipment must be visually assessed for cleanliness prior to disinfection. Use a cleaning brush to remove any debris lodged into the crevices and ensure the tool/equipment is visually assessed prior to placing in the high-level disinfectant.2. Several nail clippers and cuticle clippers were rusted. Reusable tools and equipment must be maintained in good repair. Prior to disinfection, reusable tools must be adequately cleaned and visually assessed for cleanliness. Reusable tools must be replaced once they are in disrepair. Discard the rusted tools.

      • The Preempt RTU was expired. Obtain a new Preempt RTU to disinfect the pedicure basins.

      • 1. Observed the operator placing the semi-critical tools (cuticle clippers) directly into the Preempt CS20 solution without drying first. All tools must be thoroughly dried prior to placing in the high-level disinfectant. Placing wet tools into the high-level disinfectant can dilute the concentration and render the disinfection process ineffective. Ensure the manufacturer's instructions are followed. The operator was informed to dry the semi-critical tools prior to placing it in the high-level disinfectant.2. The operators were using Preempt Concentrate to disinfect the reusable metal drill bits. Reusable metal drill bits are semi-critical tools that require a high-level disinfectant. The operator cleaned the metal drill bits and placed them in the high-level disinfectant at the time of the inspection.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • There were several hair strands observed in the bulk supply of the petroleum jelly.When portioning the bulk supply, it must be done in a manner that protects the bulk from contamination. That is, using a clean tool to remove a portion of the supply and refrain from "double-dipping".The operator discarded the petroleum jelly at the time of the inspection.
