    • 12. Are the general safety devices and physical conditions in this pool providing a safe environment (Critical)?
      • An updated anti-entrapment was submitted September 15, 23 to reflect new pump. Pump:Black & Decker BDXBTVAR200 2 HP 230 Volts. Variable speed. Max flow of 82 gpm listed on plan - using pump curve. Two, Hayward, 8” round covers. WG1048E covers in place. Max flow rating of 125 gpm. Covers were installed in Jan 2018 and have a life expectancy of 7 years, so will expire in Jan 2025. Covers in place, no cracks noted. Ensure maximum flow rating of the covers meets or exceeds the maximum flow rating (highest HP) of the new B&D pump Sumps:Please provide a drawing of the sumps with measurements and pipe orientation in the sump for the anti-entrapment plan. Depth of the sump, the distance from the underside of the cover to the top of the pipe that exits the sump and hooks up to the recirculation pump. Please indicate if the pipe that goes back to the pump exits out the side or the bottom of the sump. Suction line to pool pump is listed as 1-2” in anti-entrapment plan. When you drain the pool this year, please take the covers off and take a photo and measurements of the sump(s) and frame. Action1) Determine Max flow rate of the pump at highest HP. If this rate exceeds the main drain covers max rating (125 gpm) then a secured control system is required to prevent flow rate exceedance of covers2) Provide sump type (manufacturer) photos/drawings of sump and measurements. Also be aware of acceptable pipe size for the Hayward covers as they have been tested for 1.5 - 2 inch diameter pipes only.
