    • 06. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Critical)?
      • There are two System 3 Hi rate sand filters. Model S8S70, maximum working pressure 50 psi, filtration area 3.4 sq ft, maximum filtration rate 20 gpm/sq ft, max filter/backwash flow rate 68.2 gpm, flow rate range is 47-60 gpm (according to manufacturer’s website). Flow is split between the two filters. Flow at 45 gpm and is split between both filters. Volume 30,000 gallons. The pool must turnover every 6 hours or 4 times per day (for pools constructed prior to 2006). 30,000 gallons x 4 = 120,000 gallons/day /1440 min/day= 83 gpm is the rate at which the pool needs to be flowing at to meet the turnover requirement. This would be 42 gpm going through each filter. Adjust the flow to 83 gpm to ensure the pool is meeting 6 hour turnover requirement. A reinspection will be conducted.
