      • The high level disinfectant (CS20) used to disinfect reusable semi-critical tools for manicures and pedicures had expired in February 2026.Obtain high level disinfectant that is within its expiration date. Re-disinfect all tools in the facility once new disinfectant is obtained.

      • Reusable semi-critical tools are not being dried before being placed in high level disinfectant.After washing tools with soap/detergent and water, and after rinsing, tools must be completely dried (either air dried or with a clean towel or paper towel) before placing into disinfectant.

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The impeller for the pedicure basin had a buildup of debris and the pedicure basin is not disinfected. The impeller and the pedicure basin itself must be adequately cleaned and disinfected to remove contamination and prevent the growth of biofilms. Ensure the impeller is taken apart and cleaned to remove all debris. The pedicure basin and its components must be disinfected with at least a low-level disinfectant.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The operator is using a barbicide solution to disinfect the metal drill heads used for manicures and pedicures. Barbicide is a low-level disinfectant. Metal drill heads are considered a semi-critical equipment that requires a high-level disinfectant. Ensure a high-level disinfectant is used to disinfect the metal drill heads and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • The bed in the waxing room is visibly soiled. Client surfaces must be adequately cleaned and disinfected. Ensure the bed is cleaned and disinfected with a low-level disinfectant in between clients.
