      • There were no written procedures for client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture and decontamination of any sink that will be used for both handwashing and equipment reprocessing. Facility owner completed the above-mentioned procedures during the inspection.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Disinfecting tools were described: submerging tools in a high level disinfectant (CS20) and reusing the solution for 10 days. There was no test strip available to monitor and verify the disinfecting concentration.Facility owner ordered the test strips and showed the public health inspector the confirmation order. In the interim, the facility owner indicated that the high level disinfectant solution will not be reused. Ensure the disinfectant concentration is monitored and verified to confirm adequate disinfection.

      • Records of high level disinfectant concentration monitoring are not conducted or maintained.The public health inspector provided the AHS high level disinfectant log and instructed the facility owner on proper concentration monitoring and documentation in accordance with manufacturer instructions.Ensure that the high level disinfectant concentration is monitored and verified.
