    • Ensure the floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and furniture of the setting are maintained in good repair, easily cleanable, of smooth and impermeable material, and maintained in a sanitary condition (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec. 8(1)(2).
      • Maintain premises in a clean and sanitary condition.
    • The setting must not be a room or part of a room that is used as a dwelling, including for dining, sleeping or preparing, selling, handling, eating, or storing food. (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec. 8(3).
      • Ensure that no personal service is offered in a room or a part of a room used for dining, sleeping, or for the preparation, eating, or storage of food.
    • Every personal service setting in which reusable equipment is used shall ensure that there is at least one sink for cleaning reusable equipment (O.Reg. 136/18; 8(3a-e)).
      • Ensure the cleaning sink has adequate counter space to prepare reusable equipment for use and re-use.
      • Ensure the cleaning sink is sufficiently separated from where personal services are provided to prevent cross contamination.

    • Premises must have one sink used only for hand washing. (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec. 8(1)(5i-ii).
      • The hand wash sink must be dedicated for hand washing only.
      • Hand wash sink must have a supply of soap in a dispenser and a method of hand drying. (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec. 8(1)(6).
      • Provide liquid soap in a dispenser at the hand wash sink.
      • Provide paper towels in a dispenser at the hand wash sink or provide hand dryer in close proximity to hand wash sink.
    • Premises must have adequate storage space for necessary equipment and supplies (O.Reg. 136/18; 8(1.10)).
      • Remove equipment or material not associated with the day to day operation of the premises.
    • Reusable instruments are stored, handled and maintained in good repair and sanitary condition (O.Reg. 136/18; Sec. 10(1)(a)) & Sec.10 (1)(b i-ii)).
    • Every personal service setting in which reusable equipment is used shall ensure that there is at least one sink for cleaning reusable equipment (O.Reg. 136/18; 8(3a-e)).
      • The sink for cleaning equipment cannot be the same as the hand wash sink.
      • The cleaning sink must be continuously supplied with potable hot and cold running water under pressure.
      • The cleaning sink must have adequate counter space to prepare the reusable equipment for use and re-use.
      • The cleaning sink cannot be located in a room with a toilet.
      • The cleaning sink must be sufficiently separated from where personal services are provided so as to prevent contamination.
