    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Facility has not completed the following written procedures:- Cleansing of the skin- Decontamination of a reprocessing sink which could be used as a handwashing sink.REQUIREMENT: Complete the above written procedures.
    • 16. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Non-Critical)?
      • Operator plans to transport laundry using black garbage bags. There is no means to identify clean from dirty linens.REQUIREMENT: Operator has two options:1) If reprocessing linens offsite, then a proper system to identify and transport dirty and clean linens must be established and demonstrated.2) If laundry of linens will be conducted onsite, install a washing machine and dryer and provide laundry hampers and provide clean storage for all capes, towels, and other linens.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1) Operator did not have high-level disinfectant to reprocess the semi-critical tools.REQUIREMENT: Obtain a high-level disinfectant.2) Operator will be reusing high-level disinfectant and therefore needs manufacturer specific testing strips. A high-level disinfection log will also need to be maintained.REQUIREMENT: Obtain manufacturer specific testing strips and fill out the top portion of the provided template.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • The reprocessing sink located in a proposed laundry area does not have sufficient worksurfaces (e.g. tables/countertops) to separate the clean and contaminated tools.REQUIREMENT: Create and ensure there is sufficient space to separate clean and contaminated tools.
    • 33. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Paper towel was not available near the reprocessing sink to ensure it can be dried before being disinfected.REQUIREMENT: Obtain and provide paper towel that is in close proximity to the reprocessing sink.
