      • -Written procedures were not available for this facility. Please ensure written procedures are developed for: Preparation of Skin and Client Care.
    • 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
      • - Cleansing of the skin is not being done prior to a service that may involve contact with mucous membrane, or that will puncture or may potentially break skin. Ensure cleansing is done prior to waxing.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • -Pedicure basin is meant for home use; was hard to clean. A pedicure basin that is easy to clean should be used.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • - High level disinfectants are not being tested and verified daily using proper test strips. Ensue the high level disinfectant is tested daily using the test strips specified by the disinfectant manufacturer. Ensure records are kept of: test dates, whether the solution passed/failed, when the disinfectant was changed and the worker’s initials who performed the activity.-An Intermediate level disinfectant was not available for use on electric clippers. Please ensure that an appropriate disinfectant is available.
