- Written procedures could not be located. Procedures for the following are required and templates will be provided with this report. Written procedures are required to ensure all staff are reviewing and following documented procedures using acceptable cleansing and antiseptic products. 1. skin cleansing2. skin antiseptic3. aftercare
- 12. Are personal services workers at the facility maintaining client records and where applicable, sterility documentation corresponding to that client?
- Client records were on file with sterility verification attached. Records did not indicate which artist provided the service and what was done. Please ensure the service provider and description of the service is included on the client record.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- It was indicated that machines are disinfected using a rubbing alcohol solution. Although alcohol has a DIN or NPN there are no disinfection instructions to follow to ensure proper disinfection takes place. Microban was present along with Cavicide wipes. A low-lowel disinfectant with both a DIN and disinfection instructions must be used to disinfect the tattoo machine after each use. Ensure the use of alcohol as a disinfectant is discontinued and one of the present low-level disinfectants are used according the labelled instructions.
