      • Single use equipment such as emery boards were observed to have been washed and set to air dry in the reprocessing area. **Ensure single use equipment are discarded immediately after use.

      • Several soiled reusable and single use equipment were observed in drawers holding clean and unused equipment.

      • An accumulation of debris was observed in the UV cabinet used for storing reprocessed semi-critical equipment.**Ensure clean and reprocessed equipment are stored in a manner protects them from contamination at all times.

      • Soap/detergent is not being used during reprocessing of reusable semi critical equipment. Staff indicate equipment are only cleaned under running water.**Ensure reusable equipment are properly cleaned using a suitable cleaner/detergent, adequately rinsed with running water, visually inspected to ensure all soil has been removed before being set to air dry. Once dry, they must be disinfected with a suitable high-level disinfectant in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

      • An accumulation of nail dust and particles were observed in drawers on several workstations.**Ensure workstations are maintained in a sanitary state at all times.

Semi-critical tools are being reprocessed using alcohol.**Ensure to obtain a high-level disinfectant for use at the facility. **The disinfectant must be used according to the manufacturer's instructions, and the minimum effective concentration must be tested daily using the required test strips.**Adequate written records for daily testing must be maintained on file at the facility.
