- 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
- Semi-critical equipment was being cleaned in a room with a toilet which is not permitted. Install a permanently plumbed sink with a shelf/table next to the sink to adequately accommodate the placement of contaminated reusable equipment. This sink can only be used for cleaning equipment and/or staff hand washing purposes. It cannot be used for food preparation or other incompatible undertakings and cannot be located in a room with a toilet. Client services using semi-critical equipment are not permitted to be offered until a proper reprocessing sink has been installed.

- Written procedures were completed during the inspection.Written procedures for cleansing skin were completed for the following services: -manicure -waxingWritten procedure for accidental skin cuts or punctures was provided to the operator at the time of inspection.Reprocessing sink will not be used for handwashing therefore written procedures for sink decontamination was not required.

- Alcohol based hand rub (ABHR) was expired (2022) and was removed from the facility upon request.Alcohol based hand rub (ABHR) can be used if hands are visibly clean. The alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) must have an alcohol content between 60 to 90%, have an NPN or DIN issued by Health Canada and not be expired.

- Requested discontinue use of augenblick and refectocil cream hair dye for tinting eyebrows as the label indicates "not suitable for eyebrow/eyelash tinting and to do so may cause blindness". Operator removed these products from the client service area at the time of inspection.
