- Water temperature of the pool verified at 30 C. Ensure that if the pool is maintained at 30 C or warmer that bacteriological water sample with Pseudomonas is completed. Records indicate bacteriological water sampling for pools less than 30C has been completed.
- 03. Is the bacteriological quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
- Bacteriological Water sample submitted August 30, 2023 showed HPC of 290 CFY/mL.
- 04. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Critical)?
- pH in basin verified at 7.75 mg/L to 8.01 mg/L in the pool basin during the inspection. Automated controller indicated pH of 7.9 mg/L. pH of pool exceeds acceptable levels. Ensure that chemical parameters of the pool basin are maintained in safe operating parameters.
- 11. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit?
- Swimming Pool is in operation without a valid pool permit. Requirements for approval of pool and issuance of pool permit under new ownership (Yarrow II GP INC). Swimming pool did not have a pool permit and cannot operate until an approval inspection is conducted by AHS and a pool permit has been issued.
- 14. Is the pool maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, good repair and are temperatures being properly regulated?
- Observed green painters tape, silver tape, and wire on chemical injection tubes (from pump or into circulation system). Repair plumbing. Ensure plumbing is maintained in good repair, operational condition and free of leaks.Water level in the basin is near the top of the skimmer. Reviewed public health rationale for water level in pool and skimming. Ensure water level is 1/2 on skimmer. Observed two rust spots on the basin, one near the North side of the pool behind the metal rail and on the south side of the pool near the bottom of the basin. Ensure pool is maintained in good repair and sanitary condition. Bucket with water inside observed under right sand filter. Site staff indicated leak from filter.
- 15. Has an owner or owner's agent, if any, been identified and is the pool operated and maintained by a qualified pool operator?
- Facility does not have a certified pool operator onsite. Facility is required to have, at minimum, one certified pool operator that is dedicated to and works at that site. Confirm enrollment in an approved Certified Pool Operator Course or confirmation that site has an approved pool operator that works onsite.
- 16. Are proper testing, monitoring, and other records being properly maintained?
- Records do not indicate actions/measures (ie. Closure) or re-sampling if chemicals added or parameters are outside of normal safe operating ranges. Ensure staff are keeping adequate records of pool testing and actions taken (ie. Type and quantity of chemicals added, chemical parameters upon retesting, pool closure, ect).
- 17. Does the pool have adequate written policies, plans and posted rules and safety information to ensure that the pool is operating in a safe manner?
- An anti-entrapment plan was not available onsite or through Yarrow II Limited/Optima Living contacts. Facility does not have an anti-entrapment plan. Complete an anti-entrapment plan for the pool basin. Provide undersigned PHI a copy of the anti-entrapment report and have a copy available onsite. Ensure all accompanying documentation is included.
