    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • - There was peeling paint on the wall behind the reprocessing sink.- There was damage to the baseboard structure. Action: All surfaces must be smooth, cleanable. and non-porous. The damaged surfaces should be fixed within a month.

      • - At the last employee nail desk, unclean, used, foam nail buffers were observed in the drawers.Action: Discard single-use equipment after use.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • - Water was not drained before disinfecting the foot tubs. - A loofah was being used instead of a cleaning brush. Action: Follow all cleaning agents' manufacturer's instructions and an appropriate cleaning brush must be used.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • - For the Preempt CS20 disinfectant being reused there were no test strips,- No disinfection records.- Operator did not use the disinfectant according to manufacturer's instructions by not meeting the contact time and requirement of rinsing after use.Action: Corrective action photos received from owner Lam Huynh <[email protected]>, test strips purchased. - A UV toolbox had several tools with nail residue on them. Action: Semi-critical equipment's must be cleaned and disinfected after each use.

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • A 50/50 bleach and water mix is being used to disinfect the pedicure basins.Bleach is not a proper low level or intermediate level disinfectant for the pedicure basins. Please make sure pedicure basins are cleaned with soap and water, rinsed, then sprayed with a low level or intermediate level disinfectant.*Note the operator discarded the bleach immediately and had a low level disinfectant available for use.

      • Popsicle sticks were being used in foot scrub, and not discarded between uses. Popsicle sticks are single use items and must be discarded after every use. Or obtain a cleanable utensil to be used in the scrub and cleaned after every use.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • No disinfectant was being used on the pedicure basins. There must be a cleaner and disinfectant used on pedicure basins at all times. Obtain a disinfectant such as Preempt RTU for the pedicure basins.
