    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • 1) There was a reusable hand towel in the washroom for drying hands.2) The facial room had a reusable hand towel by the hand sink for drying hands.Replace reusable hand towels with single use paper towels stored in a suitable dispenser.3) The hand sink in the washroom did not have warm running water. Water measured at a maximum temperature of 16C.Provide warm running water at the hand sink.

      • There was hair in the high-level disinfectant stored in the disinfectant tray.Discard contaminated solution. Clean instruments properly before disinfection.

      • 1) Manufacturer's instructions for diluting barbicide were not being followed.Follow manufacturer's instructions for this product. Mix 62.5ml of barbicide with 1 litre of water. Immerse tools for 10 minutes then rinse. Replace solution daily or more often if the solution becomes dirty.2) The opening date for the clippercide was not indicated. The product is to be discarded after 12 months of opening.Indicate the opening date on the clippercide bottle.3) Only cleaning wipes were used on client surfaces.Provide a low-level disinfectant at minimum for client surfaces. Low-level disinfectants must have a DIN (drug identification number) and the word "disinfectant" labeled.4) The high-level disinfectant expired on August 8, 2025.Discard the expired disinfectant.
