- The antiseptic product (Hypochlorous acid) intended for use did not have a DIN/NPN and is therefore not approved for skin preparation.- Obtain and use an approved skin antiseptic with a valid DIN/NPN.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- Sanitizing wipes (80% alcohol content) were being used for disinfecting equipment and work surfaces (counters, beds). Sanitizing wipes do not contain DIN or MDL.- Discontinue use of sanitizing wipes for equipment disinfection and provide an approved disinfectant.
