    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • -during a body waxing treatment the client's bed was being used as a work-station. This is not a good practice because it puts the bulk supply (ie wax) at risk of contamination-bulk supply such as batons that are brought close to the client during a treatment must be discarded rather than being saved for use at a later time -staff indicated that during waxing, single use batons are 1. taken from the bulk supply, 2. dipped in the wax, 3. applied to the client, and 4 set aside not to be used again (waiting to be discarded or immediately discarded). This is appropriate. Please ensure all staff do this
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • -the waxing bed had shoe marks on it. Better cleaning after treatments is required

    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Written procedures were not available and not onsite at the time of inspection.
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • Some nail files that had been used were stored in drawers.Nail files were discarded. Ensure that single use nail files are discarded immediately after use.
    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • Due to construction there were some equipment that was found in drawers and customer areas that had not been cleaned and disinfected. All equipment was moved to the reprocessing room to be cleaned and disinfected.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Disinfection use and testing was not being logged.
    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • Facility had recently completed Renovations. Some items were not complete. There was exposed electrical outlets, and some sections of the walls were still open.Ensure that all surfaces are smooth, non porous and easy to clean.
