    • 14. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Non-Critical)?
      • Used single use items were not being disposed after use and appeared to be re-used. Items such as used single-use buffers, nail files and gloves were observed at different nail stations. The items were discarded by the staff and the PHI during inspection.Please ensure single use items are used once and discarded immediately after use.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Poured high level disinfectant in a jar did not appear sufficient to completely immerse tools. The staff was not aware tools need to be completely immersed in a disinfectant solution during disinfection. Education was provided to the staff on proper disinfecting practice.Please ensure disinfectant solutions in the facility are used according to manufacturer's instructions.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. Observed high level disinfectant test strips had expired.2. High level disinfectant testing log sheet was incomplete.Action:1. Obtain a new bottle of high-level disinfectant test strips.2. Ensure your high-level disinfectant testing log sheet is up to date. Poured disinfectant to be re-used must tested each day used and log sheet kept.
    • 33. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Porous beddings placed on the waxing bed were being re-used for more than one client. Changing beddings with clean one's in-between clients was discussed with the staff during inspection. Please note that the non-absorbent client waxing bed must also be disinfected when the beddings are removed after each client use.
