      • No written procedure was available outlining the required steps for cleaning and disinfecting the sink between handwashing and equipment reprocessing.- Develop, implement, and maintain a written decontamination procedure for dual-purpose sink. Ensure all staff are trained and able to follow the procedure consistently.

      • Front sink intended for equipment reprocessing was also used for handwashing without appropriate procedures in place to prevent cross-contamination. Operator was advised to ensure proper cleaning and disinfection is completed in between activities.- Disinfect the sink with, at a minimum, a low-level disinfectant. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use and contact time.

No record keeping of high level disinfectant when being kept beyond one day of use. Document and test concentration of high level disinfectant if used beyond one day. 3. Pedicure files do not fit in basin for complete immersion in high level disinfectant. Obtain a basin that fits all tools required to be disinfected with high level disinfectant.
