- Ensure that the personal service setting is kept free from animals, including birds, aquatic species and reptiles. Live aquatic species displayed or stored in sanitary tanks are permitted.
- The presence of animals in a premises does not apply to service animals described in subsection 80.45 (4) of Ontario Regulation 191/11 (Integrated Accessibility Standards) made under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. A service animal can be readily identified by visual indicators such as the vest or harness worn by the animal or documentation from a regulated health professional confirming that a person requires the animal for reasons relating to a disability. - Ensure service animals are restricted from areas where reprocessing or invasive procedures are performed.
- Clean and low-level disinfect all environmental surfaces in areas where animals have been present.
- Sinks designated for cleaning equipment (e.g., utility sinks) or toilets may be used for disposal of aquarium water. When necessary, dispose aquarium water at the end of the day, when the sink is no longer required for other uses. If a utility sink is used for water disposal or aquarium cleaning, clean and low-level disinfect the sink after use. Do not dispose aquarium water in handwashing sinks. (Show More)
