      • Several bottles in the pedicure stations were not labelled.Please ensure only cosmetic products with a detailed label are available for use.- Pedicure scrub was portioned into small plastic containersto prevent contamination of the bulk supply.

      • September 2025: Written procedures for client care in case of accidental cut and puncture and preparation of skin were not available.Previous inspection-Written procedures were not available for this facility. Please ensure written procedures are developed for: Preparation of Skin, Post-Service Care and Client Care.
    • 06. Do operators and personal services workers comply with the Personal Services Regulation and Standards and do they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties in a safe and sanitary manner?
      • -Personal Services workers lacked the skills and knowledge to perform their duties in a safe and sanitary manner; they were not able to classify equipment as non-critical, semi-critical and critical; they were not following manufacturer’s instructions; they lacked the understanding of infection/injury risk associated with the personal service being provided.
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • September 2025: - Single-use equipment (tor separators and buffers) were not being discarded after each use. Equipment must be discarded after use on one client if the manufacturer labels it as: single-use, not for reuse, do not reuse, disposable, discard after single-use, or do not use twice.- Porous or uncleanable equipment (wooden spatula) is not being discarded after each use. Equipment classified as porous or uncleanable must be discarded after use in one personal service on one client.Previous inspection- Single-use equipment was not being discarded after each use (ex. Toe separators). Equipment must be discarded after use on one client if the manufacturer labels it as: single-use, not for reuse, do not reuse, disposable, discard after single-use, or do not use twice.

      • - Contaminated equipment (nail clippers, nail nippers and cuticle pusher in the service area) were not adequately separated and identifiable from clean equipment. Ensure contaminated equipment is stored completely separate from clean equipment to prevent contamination of clean equipment.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • - Used semi-critical equipment was not being adequately cleaned and dried prior to disinfection or sterilization. The packaged semi-critical equipment had residues at the point of service.The equipment was not visually inspected before use.Ensure equipment is: disassembled, cleaned to remove soil, and rinsed and dried prior to disinfection or sterilization.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Previous inspection- Non-critical equipment is not being adequately cleaned and disinfected (ex. Pedicure Basins). Ensure non-critical equipment is cleaned and disinfected using, at a minimum, a low-level disinfectant.- High level disinfectants(Pre-empt CS20) are not being tested and verified daily using proper test strips. Ensue the high level disinfectant is tested daily using the test strips specified by the disinfectant manufacturer.- Disinfection records were not available. Ensure records are kept of: test dates, whether the solution passed/failed, when the disinfectant was changed and the worker’s initials who performed the activity.

      • September 2025: - Non-critical equipment is not being adequately cleaned and disinfected. Pre-empt RTU was available but expired. No other disinfectant was available to disinfect pedicure tubs. Ensure non-critical equipment is cleaned and disinfected using, at a minimum, a low-level disinfectant.- Semi-critical equipment is not being adequately cleaned and disinfected. Pre-empt CS20 expired in 2020 was available.Ensure semi-critical must be cleaned and disinfected using, at a minimum, a high-level disinfectant.- Personal services workers are not following all of the disinfectant manufacturer's instructions for use. Expired disinfectants were in use.Ensure manufacturer’s instructions are being followed.- High level disinfectants are not being tested and verified daily using proper test strips. Ensure the high level disinfectant is tested daily using the test strips specified by the disinfectant manufacturer.- Disinfection records were not available. Please ensure that measures are put in place so that the pedicure scrub is dispensed without contaminating the bulk supply.
