      • The operator failed to notify Alberta Health Services of the existence of the personal services business.Submit a Personal Services Notification.
    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • 1) Written operational procedures detailing the cleansing of skin and mucous membrane, and client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture have not been developed or submitted for review. Requirement:Establish written operational procedures for client care, and submit them for review.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1) The Preempt CS20 used for disinfection of semi-critical equipment was expired on August 18, 2023. 2) There was no low-level disinfectant available for disinfection of surfaces. 3) There were no test strips to the assess the efficacy of the high-level disinfectant Preempt CS20, which was indicated to be used for up to 10 days before discarding.4) The operator was not following manufacturer’s instructions for disinfecting semi-critical equipment in between clients.Requirements:a. Obtain a new high-level disinfectant such as Prerempt CS20.b. Obtain a low-level disinfectant that has a Drug Identification Number (DIN). c. Acquire test strips for Preempt CS20 and test solution every day that it is used for up to 14 days.d. Follow all disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions, including those for contact time of 20 minutes, reuse period, and expiry.
