    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Preempt HLD 5 disinfectant and AHP 2 test strips were available for use on non-critical hydrafacial tips.*** Preempt HLD 5 was used during its 14 day reuse period, however testing was not done each day the disinfectant was used. Instead, testing was only done on the day the disinfectant is first poured and used. Test results were documented on the AHS Sterilization log, which is meant for documentation of steam sterilization cycles.Corrective Actions taken:- AHP 2 test strips must be used each day the disinfectant is used. Results must be documented on a HLD disinfection log, instead of the AHS sterilization log that is meant for steam sterilization.- Alternatively, since the hydrafacial tips are non-critical, Preempt RTU may be used for immersion of non-critical equipment if the solution be discarded after each use.
