      • **Semi-critical tools used for physical exfoliation were being disinfected with an intermediate level disinfectant, pre-Empt RTU.** Cavicide spray disinfectant used on the energy device had expired since 2013.The disinfection requirements for semi-critical tools were discussed with the operator. ACTION REQUIRED.1) Purchase a high-level disinfectant such as CS20 for disinfecting all semi-critical tools.2) Purchase test strips for the high-level disinfectant above.3) Maintain sanitizer logs for the high-level disinfectant, using the template provided during the inspection. 4) Replace the cavicide disinfectant with the Pre-empt RTU.
